Virgin Enthroned in carved frame 18th century

Greek icon: Virgin Enthroned, in carved frame. An 18 century icon depicting the Virgin enthroned. This rather rare theme goes back on Byzantine examples where the Virgin enthroned was often depicted in mosaic in the apse of a Church. This icon must come from one of the Greek islands as Rhodes or Cyprus where the western/ Venetian influence was felt. The carved frame with a crest is a western influence.
