This icon depicts King David and originally was placed
in the highest tier of a church iconostasis of a majestic church.
King David wears a crown and holds a model of the castle of
King David in Jerusalem in his hand.
The onion shaped top of the icon a typical feature of early
iconostasis panels from the arch fathers row.

Date: Second half 17^th century, dimensions 76 x 50 cm
